REFLECTION
ON MAKING A LESSON PLAN
Creating a
lesson plan is one of the most important things in teaching. Based on my
experienced in creating lesson plan, I realized the importance of it because it
will serve as a guide and backbone in delivering the lesson. Furthermore, it is
very challenging task to do most especially to us because were first timer to
make this kind of plan and we realized that in order to accomplish a lesson
plan, you have to think a lot of teaching strategies particularly the
motivation that you are going to use to incorporate to the topic that you are
going to discuss. Lesson plan is really vital because as a teacher you have to
be organize in imparting the lesson to your students and this kind of material
will surely help you to in delivering a step by step procedure in teaching.
Our experience
in creating lesson plan was a bit challenging. This activity helps us to
imagine ourselves in the teaching world – a world that were going to encounter
in the near future. I realize that being a teacher is like an actress. The lesson
plan serves as a script that you have to study and master so that in the actual
scene you can deliver your lines in the best way, just like teachers. In order
to catch the attention of your students and encourage them to learn, you have
to put also your best effort in teaching and the lesson plan is one tool for
you to create a organize lesson.
REFLECTION ON MICROTEACHING
For me,
microteaching is the most difficult task in teaching because it is the actual
discussion. You have to perform all your plans in the lesson plan. It is quite
difficult, most especially when you don’t master the details on the lesson
plan. I realized that to come up with good execution in discussing the lesson,
mastery of the lesson plan is not only the key, but also you have to be quick
thinker. When you forgot your lines, you have to think another way so that the
flow of the discussion is still organize and smooth. As a teacher you have to
sustain your aliveness so that your students won’t be tired in listening to you
and this is the hardest task of a teacher – to be able to sustain the interest
of your students. Sense of humor is also important in teaching, it is one of
the strategies so that your students will have enthusiasm in learning.
I was so nervous
when I started to go in front of the class and start discussing. Although I
mastered our lesson plan, I still forgot many parts of my discussion. In this
situation, students participation is really important most especially when the
teacher is asking some questions. This is the time that I realized the real job
of a teacher. It is really difficult and challenging. The attention of the
students is always on the hand of the teacher. When the teacher is energetic,
there is a lot of possibility that his students will become active in class.
REFLECTION
ON PREPARATION OF MATERIALS
Preparation of
materials in teaching is the easiest stage for me. The only important in this
activity are creativity and patience. Motivation is the part of the discussion
that really needs materials most especially when you prepared games for your
students. For us, we prepared a lot of motivations to encourage our students to
be alive in the discussion. Preparing colorful materials is also helpful in
catching the attention of your students most especially when you have
elementary students.
Most of the
students are visual learners, that is
why presenting a visual aids will really help them to learn easily. This
material will not only benefit the students but also the teacher because it
will help her/him to make the discussion organize and at some point, teachers
usually forgot their lines and the visual aids will serve as their reminder for
them to continue the good flow of the discussion.
